Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to provide direct and indirect patient care under licensed staff supervision. The role emphasizes patient safety, family-centered care, and timely response to patient needs.

The position supports various departments, with duties including vital signs, phlebotomy after training, specimen collection, and assisting RN staff in a fast-paced ED environment. A Minnesota CNA registry or EMT certification is required.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota Nursing Assistant Registry certification with 6 months of health care experience.
• EMT/EMT-P certification accepted as alternative qualification.
• Or at least 12 months of direct patient care in hospital, TCU, or skilled facility.
• Enrolled in a nursing program with one clinical rotation completed.

Responsibilities

• Respond to patient call lights promptly and address needs.
• Assist with ADLs and patient comfort activities.
• Perform vital signs monitoring and basic clinical duties under RN supervision.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.
• Prepare rooms, stock equipment, and ensure infection control practices.
