Job summary

Novant Health is seeking a compassionate Emergency Department Technician for Hilton Head Hospital and Bluffton Freestanding ED. The role supports high-acuity emergency care, including vital signs, phlebotomy, EKGs, and patient prep. Strong teamwork and communication are essential in this fast-paced setting.

The position offers day and mid shifts (7am-7pm and 11am-11pm) with full-time status. Required CNA I, BLS/CPR, and Nurse Aide experience; hospital experience in ED/outpatient settings is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• One year Nurse Aide experience preferred; basic patient care, phlebotomy, EKG in ED/outpatient setting desirable.
• CNA I certification required.
• BLS/CPR certification required; some departments may have additional CPR requirements.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and document vital signs, height, weight, pain scores, and other clinical data.
• Assist providers and nurses with examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens per policy.
• Conduct EKGs and transmit results promptly.
• Assist with splinting, wound care, and orthopedic procedures within scope of practice.
• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure equipment and supplies are ready and functional.

Shift: Days/Mids rotation (7am-7pm and 11am-11pm)

Facility: Hilton Head Hospital and Bluffton Freestanding ED

What You'll Do

• Obtain and document patient vital signs, height, weight, pain assessments, and other clinical data.


• Assist providers and nurses with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.


• Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens according to hospital policy.


• Conduct EKGs and ensure prompt transmission of results.


• Assist with splinting, wound care, orthopedic procedures, and other emergency interventions within scope of practice.


• Prepare treatment rooms and ensure required equipment and supplies are available and operational.

What We're Looking For
