Job summary

Advocate Health in Wisconsin’s Emergency Department is seeking a full-time ED Tech. 36 hours per week with every fourth weekend and holiday rotations. Pay range $21.85–$32.80 hourly.

You will assist nursing and physicians with invasive procedures, perform direct patient care, monitor vitals, document in EMR, and help maintain ED supplies. Requires 2–3 years hospital or pre-hospital experience and CPR certification.

Qualifications

• 2-3 yrs hospital patient care or pre-hospital patient care experience or completion of 1 yr. nursing school clinical rotations or CNA knowledge
• Current CPR certification
• Ability to move / lift patients and push carts, etc.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care as directed by nursing or medical staff.
• Perform direct patient care as directed by nursing and medical staff based on listed skills.
• Assist nursing and physicians to perform invasive procedures.
• All ED Techs: bedside monitor application and lead placement, phlebotomy, and related tasks.
• Document all interventions in the EMR.
• Assist with patient care and safety, including restraints when required.
• Maintain supplies and equipment in ED areas and report shortages.
• Transport patients and supplies as needed within the ED.
• Complete rounds and communicate patient status per policy.
