Job summary

Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg, VA is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for PRN opportunities in the Emergency Department. The RN coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in collaboration with physicians and care teams, using standard nursing models to support outcomes.

You will assess pain, perform procedures, respond to patient needs, and teach patients and families about conditions, medications, and follow-up care.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• BCLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• PALS within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN: Registered Nurse licensure.
• Associate Degree required.
• PRN – must work at least 1 shift a week.
• ED experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management and reassess after intervention.
• Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered; document care in the medical record.
• Respond promptly to patient requests and anticipate needs to resolve them.
• Teach patients and families about conditions, treatment plans, medications and follow-up; translate complex medical terms.
• Educate on non-medicinal follow-up measures like diet, exercise, disease prevention and self-management.
