Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Sheboygan County Emergency Department. The role covers mid shifts, with potential weekend coverage, and involves delivering high‑quality patient care in a fast-paced ED setting.

You'll use the nursing process to assess and treat patients, collaborate with the care team, and ensure accurate EHR documentation. A BSN is preferred, and BLS is required, with room for professional growth and advancement within the department.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active Registered Nurse license with multi-state compact and/or single-state privileges.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional relevant certifications may be required by specialty.

Responsibilities

• Engages in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practices.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Monitors patient conditions, adjusts care plans, and collaborates with the care team to influence outcomes.
• Upholds a culture of safety and maintains accurate documentation in the EHR.
• Demonstrates effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution within the team.
• Pursues professional development and maintains required certifications.
• Adheres to ANA Code of Ethics and supports ethical practice and interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Appropriately delegates to RNs, LPNs, and other staff; floats to meet patient care needs as required.
• May administer medications and treatments per protocols and age-appropriate patient needs.
