Job summary

Baptist Health - Central Alabama is seeking an Advanced Nursing Extern for the Emergency Department, PRN. The extern will provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and assist with data collection and lab specimen handling as part of the nursing team.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited nursing program, completion of core nursing coursework, and a BLS certification. Primarily based at Prattville Baptist Hospital with on-site duties in the ED.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Must have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Care, Pharmacology, and Medication Administration in Nursing School.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
• Support the Nursing department with selected technical skills, data collection, and lab specimen collection.
• Assist with duties within the scope of unlicensed health care providers acting under supervision.
