Baptist Health - Central Alabama is seeking an Advanced Nursing Extern for the Emergency Department, PRN. The extern will provide patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and assist with data collection and lab specimen handling as part of the nursing team.

The role requires enrollment in an accredited nursing program, completion of core nursing coursework, and a BLS certification. Primarily based at Prattville Baptist Hospital with on-site duties in the ED.

Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
• Must have completed Fundamentals of Nursing Care, Pharmacology, and Medication Administration in Nursing School.

Summary

The Advanced Nursing Extern will be responsible to provide patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The Extern's duties and responsibilities are limited to those that fall under the scope of practice of unlicensed health care providers acting under the direction of a licensed nurse as per the Alabama Board of Nursing. This individual shall support the department of Nursing, which include, but are not limited to, selected technical skills, data collection, and lab specimen collection. This position may have additional duties assigned that are within scope of the role.

Education/Experience

High School diploma or equivalent required. Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program. Must have completed a MINIMUM of Fundamentals of Nursing Care, Pharmacology, and Medication Administration in Nursing School.

BLS required
