Job summary

UVA Health Northern VA & Culpeper invites applications for a Registered Nurse Resident in Emergency Services. The RN resident will lead the healthcare team, build authentic patient relationships, and collaborate with physicians to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan that promotes health or comfort.

Applicants must complete the NCLEX, be a graduate of an accredited nursing program, and hold RN licensure in Virginia.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and successful completion of the NCLEX required.
• 4 Year/Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Current RN licensure in state required.
• Willingness to learn and demonstrate excellent customer service, verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, interpersonal skills, conflict resolution, and critical thinking.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care: Acts with patient advocacy when implementing the interdisciplinary plan of care.
• Communication: Documents appropriate information in a timely manner using SBARQ.
• Teamwork: Develops relationships and mentors team members for efficient patient treatment.
• Medical Knowledge: Performs routine nursing tasks, assists in CPR, and manages medications and transfers.
