Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Temple, TX is seeking an Emergency Department Technician supervised by nursing staff to assist in urgent patient care and basic technical duties. You will collect vital signs, support mobility and daily care, perform phlebotomy, document findings, and coordinate with nurses and physicians to ensure safe, efficient patient treatment.

This role requires reading and following hospital protocols, strong communication, and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Helps in patient care duties and collects data such as vital signs, weight, pulse oximetry, and nutrition intake.
• Documents findings and follows hospital protocols.
• Provides direct technical care and assists with mobility, toileting, feeding, and personal care needs.
• Performs phlebotomy to obtain venous blood samples and handles specimens for lab review.
• Transports patients to and from the department and supports patient education.
• Communicates effectively with Nurses, Physicians, and other health team members.
