Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health at Lake Pointe Emergency Department is looking for an ED Technician to support patient care under nursing supervision. You will collect vital signs, assist with mobility, perform phlebotomy, and help educate patients and families.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year of experience, and BLS certification. Benefits and a supportive team environment are offered.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare experience.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of hire or transfer.
• Phlebotomy skills appreciated or required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data such as vital signs, weight, pulse oximetry, pain scale, and nutritional intake; document.
• Recognize and report abnormal data promptly; follow physician, provider, and nursing orders; document interventions.
• Provide direct technical care; assist with mobility, toileting, feeding, and personal care.
• Perform phlebotomy to obtain venous blood samples and handle other specimens.
• Transport patients to and from the department as needed.
• Educate patients and families; address their concerns.
• Coordinate clinical activities and communicate with nurses, physicians, and other team members.
• Follow hospital protocols and safety practices at all times.
