Job summary

Lake Huron Medical Center is seeking a Unit Secretary to support the Emergency Department on a per diem basis. The role involves facilitating department communications, transcribing physician orders, and ensuring patient records are prepared and up to date.

Responsibilities include ordering unit supplies, completing patient charts, and assisting nursing staff with indirect patient care. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, with Medical terminology knowledge and a current BLS

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or relevant experience.
• Medical terminology preferred.
• Current BLS certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current.
• Experience using computers for word processing, database management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates communication needs of the department and transcribes physician orders.
• Prepares and compiles patient records and charts for daily needs.
• Orders supplies for the unit and assists in chart completion.
• Assists nursing staff with duties involving indirect patient care.
