Job summary

Penn Medicine Doylestown Health in Doylestown, PA is hiring an Emergency Department Technician to support direct patient care in a busy ED. Under the direction of professional staff, you will perform selected therapeutic interventions and assist with diagnostic procedures for a wide age range.

This full-time role includes unit clerk duties to expedite patient flow, ensure a safe environment, and coordinate with physicians and nurses.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification for health care providers required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clinical competence to provide safe direct patient care, respectful of age-specific considerations.
• Assists in admission, transfer and discharge processes to support patient flow.
• Performs vital signs, ECG and point-of-care testing as directed by staff.
• Coordinates daily clerical operations to expedite patient care and disposition.
• Responds to codes, respiratory compromise, falls, seizures and other critical situations.
• Keeps patients informed of the anticipated plan of care and timeline.
• Assists with packing/unpacking belongings and transports patients when appropriate.
