Job summary

UVA Health Culpeper Medical Center is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to provide patient services, assist in the ED, and support infection control and data reporting under the supervision of licensed staff.

The role requires a high school diploma, 2 years ED experience preferred, and licensure such as phlebotomy/ECG EMT preferred. Strong communication, compassion, and basic computer skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 2 years of ED Technician experience preferred.
• Licensure: Phlebotomy, ECG Tech, or EMT preferred.
• Additional Skills: basic patient assessment, communication, compassion, and basic computer skills.
• Preferred: ECG course/certification, medical terminology, EMT-B/I/P.

Responsibilities

• Patient care under licensed nurse supervision; assist in the entire patient experience.
• Assist in room turnaround; clean equipment and organize supplies.
• Adhere to safety, sterile/non-sterile techniques, and department policies.
