Job summary

St. Luke’s University Health Network is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to support the ED team with patient transport, monitoring, and essential clinical tasks. The role involves responding to medical emergencies alongside an RN and assisting with diagnostic procedures.

The ED Technician performs EKGs, glucometry, phlebotomy, and specimen collection, while ensuring safety, accurate communication, and timely readiness of equipment and supplies for patient care.

Qualifications

• CPR certification and medical terminology knowledge required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Responds to medical emergencies with an RN and transports patient to ED.
• Assists with operating specialty equipment and performs procedures within scope of practice.
• Performs EKGs, glucometry, phlebotomy, point-of-care testing and specimen collection.
• Maintains patient safety, communicates changes to the team and restocks supplies.
