Job summary

PIH Health Hospital in Whittier, CA is seeking an Emergency Department (ED) Tech to support patient care under supervision in a fast-paced hospital setting. You will assist with procedures, transport supplies, and help maintain a clean, safe patient area in alignment with relationship-based care principles.

Required: basic medical terminology, infection control knowledge, English communication, and current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS).

• Support phlebotomy procedures and maintain aseptic technique where applicable.

Required Experience

Required:

• Minimal EKG knowledgeable to set-up and run 12-lead EKG (hospital to train)
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support Certification
• Phlebotomy training/State certification to be obtained within 12 months of hire
• Non-violent crisis intervention training annually

Preferred:

• California state licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or Certified Nurse Attendant (CNA)
• Acute general hospital experience either as an ED Tech, CNA or nursing student.
• Basic windows and mouse skills.
