Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center is hiring an Emergency Department Technician. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, you will support patient care, communicate with the nursing team, and help prioritize patient needs during night shifts.

Responsibilities include basic first aid, venipuncture, point-of-care testing, and splinting as part of a dedicated team focused on compassionate, efficient care for diverse patients in the Lancaster area.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CNA or PA EMT certification is required.
  • AHA BLS certification is required prior to orientation.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

Under direction of a Registered Nurse, maintains awareness of patient population needs and scheduling requirements, provide ongoing communication with nursing staff for assigned patients, and prioritize patient care in conjunction with other team members. Assist the team in meeting patient and family goals. Essential member of the health care team responsible for providing direct and indirect patient care. This individual will be trained to provide basic first aid, venipuncture, point of care testing and splinting.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Pennsylvania EMT certification required.

  • AHA BLS required prior to orientation completion
