Job summary

Essentia Health in Brainerd/Baxter, MN is seeking an Emergency Department Technician to join a dedicated team providing direct patient care under RN supervision in a fast-paced ED.

You will perform CPR, wound care, splinting, suctioning, EKGs, point-of-care testing, and assist with transfers, hygiene, and nutrition while maintaining a safe environment and reporting changes promptly. Evening shifts, every other weekend, and 56 hours per pay period offered.

Qualifications

• Emergency Department Technician role requires direct patient care under RN supervision.
• BCLS certification must be obtained within 1 month of hire.
• One of: EMT, NA, LPN, CMA program completion or current licensure.
• BSN student with at least 3 years of schooling expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under supervision to ensure safety and comfort.
• Perform CPR, wound care, splinting, suctioning, EKGs, and POC testing.
• Assist with transfers, hygiene, and nutritional needs; maintain clean, safe environment.
• Document vital signs and patient changes; report promptly to RN.
