Job summary

North Memorial Health in Robbinsdale, MN is seeking an ED Technician to support the care team in delivering compassionate, high-quality care across all ages. You will perform delegated nursing assistant tasks under supervision, ensuring patient comfort and safety while coordinating with physicians and nurses.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or GED, EMT certification, and 1 year of ED or EMT experience, with strong English skills and basic computer abilities.

• 1 year of recent ED or EMT experience, or two years of emergency responder experience in lieu of EMT certification.

About this position

The ED Technician assists the care team to give our customers and their families unmatched quality care throughout the life span including neonates, infants, pediatrics, young adult, adult and older adults. The focus is on collaborative, supportive and delegated nursing assistant functions as described in standards and competencies specific to the scope of practice described by the Minnesota Board of Nursing and NA certification regulations. The ED Technician receives direction and collaborates with the customer care team to meet the defined goals of the customer, shift, department and organization. Communication with the health care team related to progress, concerns, questions or problems that arise are an essential element of the role.

Requirements

Education

• High School diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Successful completion of a national or State of Minnesota administered certification exam for emergency medical technicians required.
• 1 year of recent ED or EMT experience or two years of emergency responder experience in lieu of EMT certification.

Experience

• 1 year of recent ED or EMT experience or two years of emergency responder experience in lieu of EMT certification.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency in oral and written English sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position required.
• Skill in basic computer operations.
