Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an Emergency Department Technician II to support patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This PRN, hourly role requires a high school diploma and BLS certification, with online modules, phlebotomy and EKG training to be completed within six months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year patient care experience in a health care environment or EMT certification.
• Within six months, pass online modules, phlebotomy training, and basic/advanced EKG skills validation; two attempts max.

Responsibilities

• Under RN supervision, perform multi-skilled activities to support patient-centered care in the ED.
• Complete unit-specific training and competency within six months of employment.
• Adhere to MUHA policies; rotate shifts including holidays and weekends as needed.
