Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking an Emergency Department Technician II within the ED to assist the RN-led team in delivering patient-centered care in a high-acuity setting. Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, at least 1 year of patient care experience in a healthcare environment or EMT certification, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 1 year of patient care experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of patient care experience in a health care setting or EMT certification.
• Within six months, complete online modules, phlebotomy and EKG training; pass tests in two attempts.
• Emergency Department Technician unit-specific training and competency demonstration required within six months of employment.
• Copy of academic degree or transcript may be required.
