Job summary

Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, TX is seeking a dedicated ED Tech to support nurses and physicians in the Emergency Department. You will help with patient transport, supplies, and basic care tasks to ensure efficient, compassionate service.

This fast-paced position requires teamwork, attention to safety, and the ability to respond quickly to changing patient needs. A High School Diploma or Equivalent, CPR/BLS certification, and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

• Strong communication and ability to assist nurses and physicians.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nurses in delivering nursing care in the Emergency Department.
• Assist physicians with procedures and patient care.
• Transport patients and maintain unit supplies.
• Answer phones and support patient flow within ED.
• Keep beds, areas, and linen clean and restocked.
• Other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY:

Reports to Emergency Department Nurse Manager and supervised by Charge Nurse.

ED Tech assists licensed nurses in delivering quality nursing care in the Emergency Department and assists doctors with procedures. ED Tech helps maintain supplies are stocked on the unit and cleans unit and transports patients.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Job Specific:

• Ensure that the ED has appropriate patient supplies for daily operations: Essential Function (EF)
• Maintain and organizes unit and patient areas. (EF)
• Responsible for the cleaning of beds, work area, and linen (dirty & clean). (EF)
• Accountable for transporting ED contaminated instruments to Sterile Processing and restocking theinstrument cart to appropriate levels. (EF)
• Responsible for assisting nurses with receiving and discharging patients.(EF)
• Assist nurses with patient care. (EF)
• Responsible to fill HUC position as needed.(EF)
• Other duties as required. (EF)
• Responsible to answer phone. (EF)
• Transport patients as needed.(EF)
• Assist physicians with patients. (EF)

Hospital:

• Adheres to organization-wide and other applicable policies and procedures.
• Day-to-day performance complies with the hospital’s Service Excellence Behavioral Expectations.
• Performs within the prescribed limits of the hospital’s Ethics, Compliance and Confidentiality Program guidelines.
