Job summary

1200 MH-Memphis Hospitals is seeking personnel to assist with patient care under the direction of Charge/Registered Nurses, supporting physicians and care teams with a range of clinical and non-professional tasks.

Responsibilities include initiating vital signs, recording findings, phlebotomy, EKGs, and positioning patients for exams. After orthopedic training, you will apply/remove splints or casts and ensure patient safety and identification.

Qualifications

• Read, write, and understand verbal or written instructions.
• Effectively communicate verbally with patients, family, public, and other health care workers.
• Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care directed by Charge/Registered Nurses.
• Initiate and reassess vital signs, including pulse oximetry.
• Document and report findings to nurse.
• Position patients for examinations and procedures and assist with patient transportation.
• Ensure proper identification of patients.
• Perform phlebotomy in accordance with protocol and safety standards.
• Provide orthopedic services to patients as ordered after CES training, including splint/cast application/removal.
• Perform EKGs in accordance with policy and procedure.
• Complete mandatory and unit-specific competency requirements.
