Job summary

UnityPoint Health in Fort Dodge, IA is seeking a dedicated Emergency Department Technician to join our fast-paced team. You will work alongside RNs and physicians to help deliver safe, compassionate patient care, including data entry into the EMR and assisting with daily living activities.

Responsibilities include supporting transfer of patients under RN direction, maintaining patient comfort and safety, and contributing to clear, collaborative communication with the care team in a busy ED

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or preferred.
• At least one year of clinical experience is preferred.
• EMT-B certification and BLS are required/preferred depending on timing and state.

Responsibilities

• Partners with RN and healthcare team to achieve patient care outcomes.
• Obtains records and enters data into the EMR as per scope of practice.
• Provides emergent and non-emergent patient transfers under RN direction.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living.
• Assist with treatment of traumatic injury.
• Assists with patient comfort and safety.
• Contributes to clear communication with patients, providers and visitors.
