Job summary

Mercy Hospital Folsom is seeking an Emergency Department Nurse Shift Manager to lead and coordinate our skilled nursing team, delivering timely, compassionate care in critical situations.

You will oversee patient flow, allocate resources, assign staffing, mentor staff, and ensure adherence to protocols and safety standards, while serving as a key liaison for interdepartmental communication and collaboration under pressure.

Qualifications

• Requires ADN and active California RN license.
• Minimum 2 years of ED RN experience.
• Basic Life Support CPR and ACLS certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Supervises nursing staff assigned to a particular shift and assigns patients based on condition and skill.
• Oversees patient care, monitors staff performance, and institutes emergency procedures as needed.
• Anticipates staffing needs and adjusts resources proactively.
• Maintains up-to-date patient records and ensures readiness for subsequent shifts.
