Qualifications

• State RN license required and current.
• BLS certification required and current.
• ALS certification required and current.
• PALS and/or ENPC certification required/within 60 days of hire and current.
• CEN certification preferred.
• BSN degree preferred.
• ECRN or MICN within 12 months of hire and current.
• EDAP certification required for certain facilities.
• NRP certification within 90 days of hire and current.
• TNCC required within 12 months of hire; TNCC preferred for non-trauma facilities.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care in the Emergency Department using the nursing process.
• Provide direct patient care and supervise patient/family teaching.
• Communicate changes in patient condition with physicians and document results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with EMTALA and hospital policies.
