Job summary

Licking Memorial Health Systems (LMHS) is seeking a Staff Nurse, RN for the Emergency Department night shift (7p-7a) at 1320 W. Main St., Newark, OH 43055. The ED provides high-acuity care with a commitment to patient safety and community health.

The ideal candidate will hold an Ohio RN license, possess strong critical thinking, and obtain BLS, ACLS, and PALS within 6 months. Independent work and teamwork are essential in this fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Current RN licensure for Ohio
• Strong critical thinking skills
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certifications required (within 6 months)
• Ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Handle multiple concurrent patient complaints, concerns and issues.
• Administer medications within the scope of RN practice.
• Assist physician with invasive/non-invasive procedures performed in the department.
• Acquire and maintain current knowledge of all equipment and procedures/treatments for emergent patients.
• Provide direction and supervision to LPNs and other staff.
• Perform crisis intervention.
• Monitor and ensure timely completion of physician orders.
• Perform defibrillation, cardioversion, and external pacing.
• Contribute to reduced ED length of stay through efficient care.
