Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Department team. The role emphasizes patient-centered care, using the nursing process to assess and plan, and maintaining documentation and safety.

The position requires an RN license and BLS certification, with typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience; BSN preferred. Night shifts, 24 hours per week, 7p-7a, may require floating to other units as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice where the client is located.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be needed by specialty.

Responsibilities

• Engages in quality initiatives and governance to improve care processes.
• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement and evaluate care.
• Monitors patient conditions and updates care plans with the team.
• Maintains accurate EHR documentation and promotes safety.
• May administer medications and therapies per protocols.
• Communicates effectively and collaborates with the care team.
