Job summary

Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC seeks an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (RN) for full-time night shifts. You will provide direct patient care in a high-acuity ED, manage rapid assessments, administer emergency treatments, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe, patient-centered outcomes.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in nursing, current RN licensure, and ideally one year of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
• Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care with an average 4:1 patient ratio .
• Perform rapid assessments and prioritize care using triage principles.
• Monitor, assess, and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and emergency treatments.
• Initiate and manage IV access, cardiac monitoring, and other emergency interventions.
• Care for patients experiencing cardiac, respiratory, neurological, endocrine, behavioral health, and other related emergencies.
• Assist with emergency procedures, code situations, and resuscitation efforts.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, imaging teams, and other healthcare professionals.
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient outcomes in the electronic medical record.
• Advocate for patient safety while delivering exceptional, patient-centered care.
