Job summary

Baptist Health Floyd in New Albany, IN seeks a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department. This full-time RN position offers 36 hours per week, day shifts from 9am to 9pm, with every 4th weekend as required.

You will join a fast-paced ED of 41 beds, delivering direct patient care and collaborating with an on-shift team to meet patient and family needs. The unit treats 160+ patients daily and requires current Indiana license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications within specified

Qualifications

• Current Indiana license to practice as RN (or compact state).
• BLS for healthcare providers required.
• ACLS certification obtained within 12 months of hire.
• PALS certification obtained within 12 months of hire.
• NIHSS certification obtained within 10 weeks of hire.

Job Duties:

In this role, the RN will be responsible and accountable for direct comprehensive nursing care for the patient. The Registered Nurse will function as an on-shift team member providing direct patient care to meet the needs of patients, families, and co-workers.

About the Unit:

The Emergency Department (ED) has 41 beds divided between two pods with 37 private rooms. A split-flow area is located near main triage and provides care to lower acuity patients. Split flow varies from 5-8 patients and is run by 1-2 nurses and a mid-level provider. This fast-paced ED treats an average of 160+ patients per day. ED staff encounter a wide variety of patients including acute cardiovascular and neurovascular emergencies, general medical emergencies, traumatic injuries, and psychiatric patients. The ED is recognized by the American Heart Association as both a STEMI receiving center and a designated Primary Stroke Center.New Graduate RNs are welcome.

Qualifications:

Current Indiana or compact state RN license, or graduate of approved nursing program

BLS for healthcare provider required.

ACLS certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).

PALS certification required (obtained within 12 months of hire).

NIHSS certification required (obtained within 10 weeks of hire).
