Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department to join our full-time day shift team (7a–7:30p) in NSG-Emergency Department. You will execute professional nursing care per physician plans, assess patient needs, implement treatments, and document observations while coordinating care with the health team.

The role emphasizes patient and family education, safety, and collaboration with peers.

Qualifications

• Completion of a two-year nursing program from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current New York State Registered Professional Nurse license and BLS(ACLS, PALS as required).
• Ability to teach and support patient/family education.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient health data with patient and family involvement.
• Perform initial patient assessment.
• Document nursing assessments and plan of care.
• Discharge planning integrated into admission process.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to meet patient needs.
• Direct and supervise nursing staff in delivering care.
• Provide education to patients and families; promote safety.
