Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the hospital Emergency Department’s busy 60-bed adult unit in Frederick, MD. The role requires independent nursing care, leadership and teaching duties, and adherence to Compliance and Standards of Behavior.

The ED handles a wide range of conditions in a Magnet-certified, Stroke and Cardiac Center environment. Schedule includes day-to-day patient care with ongoing education and QA activities, and a commitment to exceptional patient

Qualifications

• Eligible for or currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or compact state.
• Associates degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred or willing to obtain within 5 years of employment.
• Certified in CPR; BLS required within 90 days of hire.
• PALS and ACLS required for specified units (Oncology/Thoracic, L&D/OB).

Responsibilities

• Assess biophysical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, and discharge planning per nursing standards.
• Provide initial and ongoing assessments and document changes.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans with interdisciplinary collaboration.
• Communicate effectively with patients and health care teams.
• Participate in quality improvement and adherence to regulatory requirements.
