Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh. The ED is a 23-bed unit that provides non-trauma emergency care to a diverse patient population.

The RN will lead clinical care, coordinate with the care team, and ensure high-quality, safe patient outcomes. Minimum PA RN licensure or eNLC multi-state licensure required; inpatient RN experience preferred with possible specialty certification.

Qualifications

• Current State of PA RN licensure or current multi-state licensure through the eNLC.
• Certification in area of specialty (preferred).
• 1 year or more of inpatient hospital RN experience.
• Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance, Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance, Act 73 FBI Fingerprinting Criminal Background Clearance, and CPR certification are required.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional nursing leadership in a busy ED setting.
• Delivers patient-centered care and coordinates with multidisciplinary team.
• Assesses patient conditions, plans and evaluates care in collaboration with physicians.
• Ensures safety and quality by adhering to hospital policies and evidence-based practices.
• Participates in patient education and discharge planning.
• Maintains accurate documentation and reporting of patient status and interventions.
• Promotes patient safety initiatives and contributes to department quality improvement.
