Job summary

Garden Grove Hospital Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to deliver safe, patient-centered care in Telemetry and the Emergency Department. You will perform assessments, plans, and patient/family teaching while collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to ensure quality outcomes.

The role requires an active RN license in California, BLS, ACLS, and PALS/ENPC certifications, with at least one year of acute care experience. A BSN is preferred, and EMTALA awareness is essential.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current.
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate and/or ENPC 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Minimum of one year experience as a staff nurse RN in an acute care hospital setting; ER setting preferred.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• BSN preferred.
• Behavioral Violence Prevention (BVP) certificate within 6 months of hire and maintain current annually.

Responsibilities

• The Registered Nurse delivers safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation).
• Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice and guides patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel.
• Maintains standards of professional nursing care in Telemetry and in the Emergency Department.
• Communicates with the physician about changes in patient condition and diagnostic results.
• Responds quickly and accurately to changes in condition and ensures EMTALA compliance and reporting as required.
