Job summary

MedCadre is seeking an Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) to provide timely, specialized care to patients with acute illnesses and injuries in Maine. You will assess patients, administer treatments, and respond to emergencies.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and a multidisciplinary team, patient education, and strict adherence to infection control and safety standards. BLS/ACLS certification may be required.

Qualifications

• Current RN license in the applicable state.
• Nursing degree from an accredited program.
• Previous emergency department or acute-care nursing experience preferred.
• Strong assessment, critical-thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
• BLS and ACLS certification as required for the role.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient-care skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform rapid assessments and prioritize patients based on clinical needs.
• Monitor vital signs, symptoms, and changes in patient condition.
• Administer medications, IV therapy, and prescribed treatments.
• Assist with emergency procedures and interventions.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and emergencies.
• Provide wound care, specimen collection, and other clinical procedures as required.
• Educate patients and families on treatments, medications, and discharge instructions.
• Accurately document assessments, treatments, and patient responses.
• Maintain infection control, patient safety, and emergency care standards.
• Collaborate with physicians and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
