Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center is seeking an experienced Emergency Department Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced setting. The role emphasizes autonomy, teamwork, and adherence to EMTALA and privacy standards.

Full-time, evening shifts in an acute care environment with sign-on bonuses for experienced RNs and eligibility for new graduates. Compensation ranges hourly with a structured hiring process and competitive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Current and valid state RN License.
• BLS certification upon hire and maintained.
• ACLS certification within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• PALS certification and/or ENPC within 30 days of hire and maintained.
• Basic Arrhythmia Interpretation within 30 days of hire.
• Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) preferred.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation).
• Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
• Direct and guide patient/family teaching and activities of other nursing personnel in Telemetry.
• Communicate with the physician about changes in the patient’s condition and diagnostic results.
• Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition and response to treatment.
• Know EMTALA regulations and reporting of abuse to appropriate agencies and Hospital Social Worker.
• Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.
