Job summary

Eastern Shawnee Staffing Services, in partnership with Indian Health Services (IHS), seeks an Emergency Department Physician for a 1099 contract at Hopi Health Care Center in Polacca, Arizona. 12-hour shifts, up to full-time hours, 1-year+ extensions possible, credentialing up to 90 days.

Must have MD/DO, 2+ years ED experience, and active DEA registration with ACLS/PALS/BLS. Indian Preference policy applies. Fully onsite role with travel and local candidates welcome.

Qualifications

• MD or DO from an accredited program.
• Board certified or board eligible in Emergency Medicine (preferred).
• Active medical license in any U.S. state.
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Department experience.
• Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients.
• Current DEA registration.
• ACLS, PALS and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care to patients with a wide range of conditions and acuity levels.
• Perform patient evaluations, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans.
• Manage ED patients from initial assessment through disposition.
• Stabilize patients with acute illness or injury.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists and other clinicians.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and imaging studies.

Schedule: up to Full-time hours | 12-hour shifts

Contract Length: Up to 1 year with additional extension options available

What You'll Do

• Provide emergency medical care to patients presenting with a wide range of conditions and acuity levels.
• Perform patient evaluations, diagnose medical conditions, and develop appropriate treatment plans.
• Manage emergency department patients from initial assessment through disposition.
• Stabilize patients experiencing acute illness or injury.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals.
• Order and interpret diagnostic testing, laboratory results, and imaging studies.
• Provide patient and family communication regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR).

• Current DEA registration
• Active ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
• Prior locum tenens and/or IHS experience preferred
