Job summary

ACEP Now is seeking Emergency Medicine Physicians (MD/DO) to support the Chinle Comprehensive Health Care Facility in Chinle, Arizona. This opportunity offers a long‑term locum contract where your clinical expertise will directly impact patient care in a vital community.

You will provide emergency medical services, collaborate with teams, and maintain patient documentation. Experience in high‑acuity environments and valid state medical license are required, along with the opportunity to work in a mission-driven setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room experience.
• Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients.

Responsibilities

Contract Details / Schedule

• 1099 Government Contractor position
• Long‑term contract up to 1 year with extension options
• 13‑hour shifts
• Full‑time and part‑time opportunities
• Day, Night and Mid shifts available
• Emergency Room experience as an MD Required
• 2‑3 years of experience Needed
• Critical Access hospital
• IHS facility
• Previous Locum Tenens experience preferred
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine needed
• Adult and Pediatric patients
• Work on any US license

What You’ll Do

• Provide emergency medical care to patients with acute illness or injury
• Perform examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and make timely diagnoses
• Stabilize critically ill or injured patients using emergency procedures
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
• Determine appropriate patient disposition (admit, discharge, transfer)
• Follow all facility policies and regulatory requirements
• Communicate effectively with patients and families
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives

• Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients
• Current DEA registration
• Active ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications
• Prior locum tenens and/or IHS experience preferred
