Job summary

NYU Langone Health is seeking a Patient Care Technician for the Emergency Department Night Shift (35 Hours) to support nursing staff and provide compassionate, safe patient care.

The role focuses on assisting with routine clinical tasks, maintaining patient safety, and contributing to a high‑quality care environment in a fast‑paced hospital setting. BLS/CPR certification is required at entry; PCT/CNA pathways are accepted with appropriate experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a PCT program with at least 6 months hospital experience or CNA graduate with EKG & Phlebotomy course plus PCT certification eligibility and 6 months hospital experience.
• BLS or Heartsaver CPR/AED certification required at entry.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates NYU Langone Health Core Values in duties.
• Assists the professional nurse in patient care and safety.
• Supports unit operations, equipment, and supply management.
• Participates in data collection for Quality and Performance Improvement.
• Assists in patient transfer, admission, discharge procedures and meal/service needs.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, and staff.
