Job summary

UPMC Horizon - Shenango Valley is seeking a full-time Patient Care Technician to join the Emergency Department team. PCTs work closely with nurses to provide vital patient care, assist with ADLs, and support the department in delivering high-quality care in a busy ED setting.

Qualifications

• Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs) and basic patient care.
• Performs nursing assistant duties and at least four BU identified tasks (e.g., phlebotomy, EKG, dressing, Foley removal).
• Communicates with RN, reports changes, and adheres to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides patient care including assisting with procedures and ADLs.
• Performs core nursing assistant duties and at least four BU tasks.
• Reports changes in patient status to the RN and ensures proper documentation.
• Maintains equipment, responds to call lights, and supports department activities.
• Delivers patient care under the direction of the RN and follows hospital protocols.
