Job summary

Sentara Careplex Hospital in Hampton, VA is hiring a Patient Care Tech for the Emergency Department. The role is full-time (36 weekly scheduled hours) with Day shift and rotating weekends. The PCT works under the supervision of a nurse to provide patient care, support admissions/discharges, and ensure patient safety.

The ideal candidate has HS diploma and qualifying programs (CNA/NCP/NCMA or related). AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire is required, with general health-care experience

Qualifications

• HS - High School Grad or Equivalent AND
• One of the following programs is acceptable for education: Sentara Care Partner Certification Program, CNA, NCMA, NCPCT, Navy Hospital Corps School, EMR/EMS/EMT/AEMT/Paramedic, or current clinical student in a related program.
• AHA BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a professional nurse.
• Support admissions and discharge processes.
• Observe and report changes in patients' physical, mental, and emotional conditions.
