Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Patient Care Associate for the Emergency Department at University Hospital. The PCA will join a care team alongside Registered Nurses to provide patient care and supportive services that support patient outcomes and involvement in the plan of care.

Location is University Hospital. The role requires flexibility with varying shifts and 36 scheduled hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous patient care experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Strong customer service, organizational and time management skills.
• Successful completion of PCA training course required after hire.

The Patient Care Associate (PCA) functions as an integral member of a team of care providers on a patient care unit, reflect a culture of cooperation, enthusiasm, and mutual respect. The team, consisting of the Registered Nurse, and the Patient Care Associate provides patient care and supportive services that are directed towards achievement of patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient's involvement in his/her own plan of care, improving services levels, and reducing decreasing costs. Patients and their family will experience the benefits of patient focused care through the integrated skills of all care team members. Minimum Qualifications
