Job summary

Northwest Health-Porter in Valparaiso, IN is seeking an experienced Manager, Emergency Department to oversee daily ED operations, nursing care delivery, and staff management. You will drive clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement across the department.

You will collaborate with hospital leadership, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient flow, resource utilization, and patient experience while maintaining a culture of safety and accountability.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
• Bachelor's Degree or higher is preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in a closely related field is required.
• 2-4 years of previous leadership experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily operations of the ED, ensuring efficient patient flow and high-quality care.
• Supervises and evaluates nursing and support staff for compliance with standards and policies.
• Collaborates with the Director and interdisciplinary teams to set and achieve departmental goals.
• Coordinates patient throughput, bed management, and timely care across departments.
• Responds promptly to emergencies and staffing issues, exercising leadership under pressure.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains regular attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
