Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown in Dallas is seeking an ED Supervisor to lead the Emergency Department, oversee day-to-day operations, and align with organizational goals. The role requires a Texas-licensed RN, 3+ years in acute emergency or critical care, and strong leadership capabilities.

You will drive quality, ensure regulatory compliance, collaborate with physicians and senior leaders, and foster a patient-centered, positive work environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
• 3+ years in acute emergency or critical care nursing required.
• Progressive leadership experience preferred.
• Current TX RN license.
• Current BLS through American Heart Association required.
• Board certification in leadership/critical care/emergency nursing preferred.

Responsibilities

• Direct day-to-day ED operations to meet census and service goals.
• Lead patient and family-centered care aligned with the organization’s mission.
• Develop recruitment and retention strategies for department leadership.
• Determine personnel qualifications and competencies for patient care.
• Direct quality assurance and process improvement to meet standards.
• Collaborate with hospital leadership and physicians to optimize patient care.
• Create a positive working environment within the department.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory/accreditation requirements.
• Identify cost-effective systems to support department needs.
• Establish relationships with patients, staff, physicians, vendors.
