Job summary

Sharp HealthCare in San Diego, CA seeks an ED Nurse Supervisor to provide direct supervision of ED nursing staff and 24‑hour responsibility for the quality of care in the Emergency Department. You will coordinate care for patients and families, and plan, organize, direct, and evaluate staff activities to ensure high‑quality, cost‑effective patient care.

Responsibilities include scheduling and shifting resources, leading cost‑reduction and process improvements, and collaborating with physicians

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• 5 years ED clinical nursing experience, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• California RN license (CA Board of Registered Nursing) required.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Professionals required.
• ACLS required.
• PALS required.
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct supervision of ED nursing staff and 24-hour responsibility for quality of care in the ED.
• Coordinate care for patients and families in the ED; plan, organize, direct, and evaluate staff activities to ensure high-quality, cost‑effective patient care.
• Schedule and coordinate resources for each shift on daily, weekly, and monthly bases.
• Identify and implement cost-reduction and revenue-enhancement ideas; promote efficient use of supplies within budgeted expenses.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to resolve issues and ensure regulatory compliance and quality improvement.
