Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA seeks a Registered Nurse Nursing Professional Development Generalist (Educator) for our Emergency Department, a Level I Trauma Center. This full-time role supports orientation, practice transitions, and continuing education, advancing nursing practice and patient outcomes in a fast-paced ED.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) required.
• RN license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS required within 90 days of hire.
• NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN preferred.
• Two years of clinical RN experience required.
• Emergency Department, Level I Trauma experience preferred.
• Process improvement, project management, and nursing education experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements staff education within designated populations.
• Facilitates orientation, practice transitions, and continuing education for nursing staff.
• Champions education competency/skills validation to move nurses from novice to competent practitioners.
• Supports system and hospital performance improvement and evidence-based practice projects.
