Job summary

The Central Texas Health Care System is recruiting for Nursing Assistants for our Emergency Department in Temple, Texas. The NA will function as a member of the nursing care team and assist licensed nursing staff in the care of patients/residents receiving preventive, acute, subacute chronic, maintenance, and hospice care.

Qualifications

• Six months of general experience.
• Education or training above high school with courses related to NA.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English per VA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed nursing staff in caring for patients/residents across care levels.
• Support preventive, acute, subacute, chronic, maintenance and hospice care.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families and interdisciplinary team; provide basic life support as needed.
