Job summary

Qualifications

• Current nursing license to practice in Louisiana per the State Board of Nursing.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Current ACLS, CPI and PALS certifications (new grad must obtain within 6 months).
• Current TNCC (CHNOLA and UMC ERs only) and ENPC (can substitute for PALS at UMC/EJMC).

Responsibilities

• Prioritize, coordinate and delegate all care touchpoints for patients.
• Maintain and advocate a safe environment for everyone.
• Monitor and engage with patients, families and care team during events or condition changes.
• Prevent and treat wounds.
• Ensure infection control and environment of care requirements are followed.
• Ensure continuity of care, throughput and communication for a great patient experience.
• Advise supervisor when unable to complete tasks promptly, effectively, or safely.
• Initiate patient and family education using available resources and care services.
• Address patient questions and concerns.
• Contribute to the team by assisting others without being asked.
