Job summary

HCA Healthcare’s Portsmouth Regional Hospital seeks a Nurse Educator to advance professional practice through evidence-based education for nursing and clinical staff. You will help develop onboarding, orientation, and competency initiatives, and collaborate with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to tailor programs based on results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership is preferred.
• Minimum 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital is preferred.
• Currently licensed as an RN or have an active compact state license as required by law.

Responsibilities

• Participates in onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other personnel.
• Provides orientation to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates to adjust programs based on evaluation results.
• Manages competency development and ongoing education activities.
• Designs educational activities to address practice gaps and learner engagement.
• Promotes evidence-based practice and supports quality improvement initiatives.
