Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA, is seeking a Registered Nurse, Nursing Professional Development Generalist (Educator) for our Emergency Department, home to Hampton Roads' only Level I Trauma Center. This is a full-time role with a 7:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

shift and on-call approximately every 10 weeks. The ideal candidate holds a BSN and RN license; BLS/ACLS/PALS within 90 days of hire, plus ED experience and a background in process improvement and education are strongly preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) is required.
• Registered Nurse license required.
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS within 90 days of hire; NIHSS, TCRN, SCRN, TNCC, CEN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement staff education within designated populations.
• Support orientation, practice transitions, and continuing education.
• Provide competency validation to move nurses from novice to competent practitioners.
• Support quality, safety, and patient outcomes through education and practice improvements.

Education

Bachelor's Level Degree, B SN in Registered Nursing Required
