Job summary

HCA Healthcare's Medical City Las Colinas in Irving, TX is seeking a Nurse Educator to enhance professional practice through evidence-based education programs for nursing and inter-professional staff.

In this role you will develop onboarding, coordinate competency, design educational activities, promote lifelong learning, and advance EBP, with travel up to 25% and collaboration with the Director of Clinical Professional Development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required.
• Master’s degree in nursing is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in clinical education, CSC, academia or leadership is preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in acute care hospital is preferred.
• Current RN license in state of practice or active compact license is required.
• Nationally recognized specialty certification is preferred.
• Basic Life Saving (BLS) is required.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Participates in onboarding and orientation programs for nursing and other healthcare personnel.
• Provides orientation/onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
• Collaborates with the Director of Clinical Professional Development to adjust the program based on evaluation results.
• Participates in development, coordination, and management of competency activities.
• Designs educational activities to address practice gaps for target audiences in alignment with processes.
• Develops activities to achieve outcomes related to deficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill and practice.
• Promotes and integrates evidence-based practice to improve care.
• Identifies strategies to support lifelong learning and staff maturation.
• Utilizes the novice-to-expert continuum for staff development.
